read recently Phayao had over 500 cases of H1N1 flu cases. Is it wide spread also in Chiangrai? While we have had our shot in the states, still concerned as we are in our 60's when we visit in February. Phayao seems to have an epidemic going on and poor treatment.

More chance of dying from the normal flu - rest east piggy flu won't be much of an issue. :)

Thanks since we will be traveling a lot. All I know is from what I read about in our home town.

I've lived through bird flu, the SARS epidemic, swine flu and now cheerfully ignore the ravages of the dreaded Dengue Fever.

And that's only the more socially acceptable diseases. :whistling:

There's a thread here about a recent outbreak at Mae Sai.

Once could be excused for thinking the dead were piled high in the streets but my last couple of visits showed little evidence of this.

My wife's niece and a cousin works in the Phayao hospital as nurses and said never seen it so bad there. So that is why I asked about Chiangrai. I do not know about what they gave in the past there but now the shot in the USA is both H1N1 and 2 other kinds of flu shots in 1 shot.
