Airasia Departure From Suvarnabhimi To Chang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi, we will be sending our young cousin to the airport this weekend to fly to Chang Mai on Air Asia, she'll be getting the Bell bus service from Pattaya which usually drops everyone off outside the main departures hall.... anyone know where Airasia departs from ? is it from the main departure hall or is there a separate one for domestic flights ?

thanks in advance !

Suvannabhumi is a ONE TERMINAL operation, so it should not be a problem to find the right check-in row. the domestic check-in-counters are on the LEFT side of the building, when you enter it. there are several information counters where your cousin can ask, but better just watch the big boards announcing the departures. the check-in row will be listed there.

you did not mention if your young cousin is THAI national, but if so, even better, as virtually everyone will be helping her to find her way.

after checking in, she will have to proceed to the domestic departure area, which again is on the left side of the building. the boarding gate will be printed on the boarding pass, and there is a easy-to-understand signage once she is inside the departure area. no need to worry much.

Ok, thanks for that ... can vaguely remember now but wasn't sure if there was a similar set-up to the old airport..

That;s "Gate 2" out front, and check-in "Row D-E" for Air Asia.

The main passenger terminal building has four (4) levels. Departures, the level where the check-in counters are, is on level 4. There are ten (10) doors in the front, labeled 1, 2...10 from left to right. Inside there are ten (10) rows of check-in counters labeled A, DC, DE...W, left to right. Thai AirAsia uses counter E for domestic flights. Maybe best to familiarize yourself and travelers with a map of the terminal building.

Domestic flights leave from the A and B concourses, and the security check-point for domestic flights is to the far left, behind doors 1 & 2, and counters A and BC.

I'm not sure which level Bell will drop pax off at; it could be level 1, 2 or 4 so be aware that you may have to enter the building then make your way up to level 4.
