Where would I begin my search for properties for sale? The local land office?I am concerned that the remote location will make doing things officially, as opposed to through word of mouth, difficult. The family will be buying the land and I will obtain a 30 year lease. Any suggestions on starting the search?

The only way I know is by word of mouth. They seem to very good at it.

i did find my property on the local bank. just check them out. TMB, KASIKORN,FARMERBANK and so on.

some banks have a internet site for property search but most only in thai.

its worth a try, i was lucky and satisfied in the way they were helpful even in the landoffice ir was a peace of cake with the bankdirector supervicing.

The best and only way I recommend is to get in your car and drive around every hard surfaced road you can asking the locals, get your wife/g/f to do it and stay the heck out of there.
