Microsoft appoints Synnex as software distributor

Tapping into broader nationwide market

Microsoft (Thailand) has announced that Synnex (Thailand) Public Company Limited is to become the third official distributor for Microsoft’s software products in the country with an aim to boost and strengthen local software industry, as well as better answer the needs of customers throughout every region.

Patama Chantaruck, Managing Director, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited said, “Following the success of Windows 7 and Office 2010 launch which saw an overwhelming response from consumers, and with continuing the momentum of Windows 7 and Office 2010 a top priority for FY2011, Microsoft is aiming to expand its distribution channels to serve to more consumers in both Bangkok and upcountry. With this in mind, we’re now focused on collaborating with partners with strong potential and extensive customer bases.”

“The positive response we’ve received from consumers shows that this is the time for Microsoft to get closer to consumers,” contined Patama Chantarcuk. “Microsoft is very pleased to be partnering with Synnex (Thailand) Public Company Limited in order to boost our retail business and to give more consumers in Thailand the access to genuine Microsoft software that they deserve. Now working closely with three main Microsoft distributors, we are confident that greater productivity will allow us to deliver high-quality services with comprehensive support for all our customers.”

Supan Mongkolsuthee, Chairman and CEO of Synnex (Thailand) Public Company Limited said, “We are very proud that Microsoft has placed its trust in our capability to expand its market reach by appointing us as an official software distributor. We firmly believe that with Microsoft’s best-in-class products, plus our strong strategy, covering branches around the country, integrated services and efficient market support, Microsoft’s products will be better delivered to Thai consumers and bring about mutual growth for every party. Furthermore, as a direct result of this appointment, we expect the company to earn a revenue of approximately 450 million baht from distributing Microsoft products.”

Synnex (Thailand) Public Company Limited has distributed computers, computer peripherals, software, IT systems and computer consumables for more than 20 years. Currently, the company has 22 branches covering 4 main regions of the country, as well as an after-sales service center to serve customers both before and after purchasing products.

In addition to the continued sales of Microsoft’s OEM products, this new appointment will see Synnex now distribute Microsoft’s software products that include FPP (Full Package Products), PKC (Product Key Cards) and Open License products.
