Brian, KVC conputer are good too. they are on the Google Map.

If you have a Genuine copy of Windows XP home edition, then maybe you will have a Recovery Disk. Be careful, they don't install a fake windows program.

What do you want a partition for ?

What program do you have a problem with ? There are programs on the internet that can help remove persistent programs.

We have a computer technician at our school who can visit your home and get you sorted.

I will p.m you his number.

He has only a little bit of Thai so maybe the wife can talk to him.

Charge should be about 300 -400 baht + anything you need to buy.

Brian,

just put in your install cd and after that choose for starting from cd.

choose the partition where you want to put in the new system and also format Complete!

Leave it, when i asks again for starting cd or hd do nthing untill everything is installed.

After that put in the cd with came with your main board to install all the drivers and everything should work as new.

I have tryed this but there are something special about that XP Home Edition+even on Windows home page, they said that it cant be removed.

My problem is+I have a copy, which I usely use+becourse the genui dossent work+so when I got the real XP and install that and it did not function,I try to remove it by doing what you say here+but it only install a new version+and so on, until now+where I am left whit a copy+and 3 different versions of XP+and non of them, exept the copy works.

I say thanks for all reply and think, I will go for that man,who can come to my home and fix it for me.

Microsoft's default installation with everything in one partition is APPALLING. Everyone should have at least two partitions if they care a jot about their data. The default should be with C partition for Windows and all other programme installations, and a D partition for data. It's then very easy to right click My Documents and move it, including all contents to the D partition.

If you do this and then keep all documents and music, etc. inside My Documents, or at least somewhere on the D partition then your data is pretty much secure except if the hard disc physically fails (of course it should be backed up elsewhere too). If you have a software problem and the computer needs a reinstall you can then just format C partition reinstall everything and leave all of your data intact. God knows why this isn't the default? Microsoft must be guilty of massive data loss on computers throughout the world through not making this the (very simple and obvious) default...

Oh, and they are also responsible for mass forest destruction by setting Microsoft office margin defaults to 3.5cm - leaving a little square in the middle of the page to print. I always used to change my defaults to half of that, but I wonder how many people just go with wasteful and environmentally irresponsible (on a massive scale!) Microsoft defaults?

You've probably guessed that I don't think much of Microsoft, hence typing this from my excellent 2 year old Linux Ubuntu installation - virus free, cost free, Open Source, and hence truly free...

Yeah. Indeed. Even better to have a seperate physical disk too. I wasn't quite sure what brian was trying to say, but its loud and clear now. He needs to format his disk(s) and start again ;-)

The guy asked the question in Chiang Rai forum as he lives in Chiang Rai and wanted advice from his friends in Chiang Rai about computer services in guess where?
