Another on Dongtan beach; the lights on the beach are mercury lamps, I think. This creates this effect..

The bands of colour are really amazing. I would meter on the sand near where the girl is standing, as the beach is slightly over exposed. It's much easier to increase exposure in an editor and keep the quality good, than the other way around.

All in all I think it's a pretty difficult shot to make with the wide variance in lighting, along with moving figures.

That's a pretty cool shot. It would interesting to see an HDR of the same place.
