My friend (and former colleague) is panicking right now and I'm not sure how to reassure her. Please help if you can!

If a teacher breaks his/her contract, is it possible for the school to contact immigration and cancel her visa? I said no way, but someone told her that this is possible. She's also worried that she may be arrested for "fraud" (not sure how "fraud" has been committed, but, again, someone told her this was possible - but that's not really a visa issue, so it may not be appropriate for this forum).

She plans on travelling outside Thailand starting next week and she has a non-imm B visa, so I told her that, though it's not necessary, but because she's so worried, just don't get a re-entry permit and re-enter Thailand on a tourist visa (p.s. she wants to leave Thailand for good in two months anyway - I told her she can always renew the tourist visa after 30 days and she'll be set until she leaves around the end of october). Is this good advice?

Thanks a lot!

No no no.

Teachers quit jobs all the time.

True, the school if angry may contact immigration to advise them that her Work Permit is no longer valid. So she may need to leave and re-enter within 7 days if her Visa is tied to the Permit. But other than that, Immigration is not going to do anything other than concern itself with Immigration issues. Dont worry about fraud. Not an issue as she told no lies.

Remember that you cannot beleive everything that people say. Even Immigration officials will tell you one thing, and the next one will tell you another.

Relax.
