O Type To B

Featured Replies

hi all

i am currently in bangkok on a type O non imm visa, if i was to obtain a job, how difficult would it be to change this to a type B ? or would i have to do a visa run to the border ? :o

thanks

First, you may routinely obtain a work permit on the basis of an entry permit issued agaisnt a non-immigrant O visa.

Secondly, you may obtain an extended entry permit of a Class O entry permit based on qualifying employment for a qualified employer - exactly the same as if it was a Class B entry permit.

I am nearing the end of my third consective annual extension of what was originally a 90-day Class O entry permit - and all extensions have been based on employment.

This is completely routine.

If you are in Bnagkok, and you need help processing work permit or entry permit extension, my company's staff would be pleased to assist - contact Khun Beer or Khun Ant at 02-260-3914.

Good luck!

so i can stay on a type O and apply for a work permit, and not have to change my visa status....hmmm, that makes things a whole lot easier and cheaper.

thanks
