1 Aussie, 1 Kiwi, 1 Thai To Visit Laos

Featured Replies

three people, a kiwi, a thai and an aussie are planning on visiting laos on their next trip to asia. we'll either be crossing via land up and chiang rai or from isaarn across to vientiene, or we'll fly across from ubon ratchathani or bangkok... I however can't seem to find any solid information on Visa's my travel agent didnt know about the aussie, said i (the kiwi) could get visa on arrival _if i fly in_ and that the thai didnt need a visa. however the travel agent wasn't sure. and i'm finding all sorts of conflicting information everywhere, can someone please tell me what visa requirements a thai, a kiwi and an aussie national would need for a trip to Laos of between 3 and 10 days. thanks in advance!

at this stage i guess its just fly into BKK and once there visit a travel agent, however I'd feel so much better if I could arrange any neccessary visa's etc. before hand.

anyone have any ideas whatsoever?

in case anyone else is interested apparently

Thai's can do Visa on arrival

Kiwi's can do Visa on Arrival

and Aussies can do Visa on Arrival

all around $25 to $30 usd apparently.

I still haven't managed to find a reliable source, or even something second hand. everything has been from a posting on a webpage. I'd feel much more confidant if someone said " yep i did it, all good" but so far, naught!

You can't fly from Ubon to Laos.

Land crossing is at Chong Mek,about 80km from town.

Visa on arrival available.Need one passport photo.

Different fees for different nationalities.

Thais don't need a visa.

One month visa given.

All of the information you need can be found by using a travel information website . This one is provided by Delta Airlines :
