Mobile Internet In Thailand - Need Advice...

Featured Replies

hello:

i need to travel to Thailand next month and will stay in a few places in Northern part of Thailand.

i have a mobile usb adapter with me so i guess i only need to purchase a sim card in Thailand with a data plan available?

i would prefer to subscribe a 3G network plan but i m not sure the 3g coverage in northern part of Thailand?

i probably will be traveling to Loas and Myanmar as well, as long as i can get the Thailand network signal i will be able to use the data network and access internet? my main thing for me to access internet is to be able to check and reply email as well as view attachment in my computer. the file attachment size generally are between few hundred kb to 1GB.

any advice would be appreciated.

thanks

qsecofr.

3 G is only around BKK and a couple of other big tourist destinations at present as far as I know. You will get EDGE though in most places in Thailand. I use an AIS /12call sim as a back up for when I am on the boat etc. As long as the files are not too big it is fine. I pay 520 baht a month for 250 hours. They also do unlimited for 1000 baht a month. A sim is 49 baht from any phone shop or 7/11 :D
