Hi,

just a question about the forum rules: Once in a while I see posts where someone asks ...do you know a company that does....

To my understanding it is absolutely ok to make a refernce like...go to XYZ, they did a good job for a friend of mine a while ago..

Now if my own company offers such service and I reply accordingly, is this commercial spam or helping the OP?

Thanks for advise!

If the info is requested by someone it should be ok. If you are unsure just have the poster send you a private message for details.

I've got to make comment on some of the new topics appearing, which seem like spam to me. I note, in particular, the 'health is wealth' thread in 'General Topics' and the threads by Elliott in the Phuket forum about his booze cruises. Both were proactive posts, not answering questions, and are little more than adverts, IMHO.

I don't want to be anal about it, and it's hardly the biggest deal, but I do get bored reading someone else's ads when I'm on line to be informed or entertained.

The Health & Wealth was spam of the highest order and it's been dealt with. As for Elliot's cruises, well he seems to be contributing to the TV community even if it is somewhat for his benefit. We'll let it go but keep an eye out for now.

Thanks for the heads up. So far you've got one spammer to your credit. Five makes you an ace. :o
