Accident Teenager Killed in Motorbike Crash with SUV in Nonthaburi
Picture courtesy of Kaoded. A 16-year-old student intern lost his life after his motorcycle collided with an SUV that was turning into a petrol station in Bang Bua Thong District. The fatal crash occurred at the entrance of a petrol station in Soi Wat Lat Pla Duk, Bang Rak Phatthana Subdistrict. Officers from Bang Bua Thong Police Station and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation responded swiftly to the scene, along with a forensic medical team from the Institute of Forensic Medicine. The deceased, identified as Mr Chairat Khongmuang, was found lying next to his damaged black Yamaha GT motorbike, registration from Chaiyaphum. He was confirmed dead at the scene. The other vehicle involved was a black Isuzu SUV, registration from Bangkok, which showed damage to the front left section. Mr Chairat was reportedly on his way to his shift at a convenience store where he was completing an internship. His manager confirmed that he was a responsible trainee who was commuting to work at the time of the crash. According to the wife of the SUV driver, who was a passenger at the time, her husband had been driving from the direction of Soi Wat Lat Pla Duk. As they approached the petrol station, he signalled to turn. She claimed they began making the turn when the motorcycle approached at high speed, attempting to cut across the front of their vehicle. The collision occurred suddenly and with force. Police are currently investigating the incident. They have recorded statements from the SUV driver and collected evidence at the scene. CCTV footage from the area, as well as dashcam footage from the SUV, will be reviewed to establish the precise sequence of events. Adapted by Asean Now from Kaoded 2025-07-08 -
