Has anyone heard of or had any bad experience with a phony Visa office in BKK who evidentally are based next to the bonafide office?

Yes I was on about the location next to the British Embassy's office, I had heard of an extortionate fee required and wonder if anyone had actually been duped?

If this is so I wonder why the Embassy hasn't been notified.
