Obtaining A Thai Driving Licence

Featured Replies

has anyone got any RECENT experience og getting a Thai driving licence? If anyone got it throught the one on Sukhumvit by 62/1 then that would be even more interesting. I hear so many differing stories, some sat an actual driving test, others did not, some did a written test etc. I know what it says on this site but I have spoke to people who have had completely different experiences.

What did you take?

What happened and what were you required to do?

Thanks.

You will need a non resident visa,a medical certificate and resident conformation and some photos,,anything other than that is just what ever they want to do at the time,,it is all different for everyone..

US Driver's license. Form from the consulate stating you live here. Non-Immigrant Visa. Some Baht- Can't remember how much. Two pictures. Fill out some more forms at the office. License issued.

105/- Baht for the license in March this year as for the last 12 years that I had to renew mine, same price as for our Khun Thai hosts.
