For you in the states good news here is an email from Jan ( Counsl Asst) in Denver and she knows nothing about the October cut off date for Denver to stop processing these types of Visas

xxxxx, I am curious to know where you heard that we will no longer be processing Non Immigrant Visas here after October 1? It’s the first I have heard of this. Of course, the Embassy isn’t always quick at getting us information.
