How To Insulate Internal Cavity Condo Walls?

Hi all,

I'm a complete layman, so here goes....the condo I own has cheap internal walls (I don't know what - wood/plasterboard/chipboard) which are painted and are hollow with the electrical wiring and AC pipes running inside them (presumably). I am interested in soundproofing for privacy and better cooling efficiency. I realise that I could either add a second layer of fiberglass insulation to the walls (losing internal space) or could I hire a professional to blow cellulose insulation into the wall cavity? I would prefer the latter. Has anyone experience of doing this or is it inadvisable? Thinking about it, it may not be possible or practical as I guess you might need access to electrical wires or piping? is it a fire risk?

I searched Thailand Yellow Pages but couldn't find anything, if what I'm asking about is possible, could anyone suggest a firm in Bangkok or how to find one?

many thanks

Internal walls - between bedroom and living area, etc. Seen these in a riverside condo in Nonthaburi back in 1996.

Not a fire risk if common walls between condo units and walls to public corridor are made of bricks or blocks.

Main problem is sound transmission between rooms. Not much you can do. Sound in the lower frequencies will get through even with cellulose insulation due to a lack of mass. And you probably cannot change the walls to brick or block because the floor slab is too thin to handle increase weight and will suffer excessive deflection.

One of the risk of buying off plan.
