E-Mail Notification To Subscribed Forums And Topics

Featured Replies

Has something gone wrong with the e-mail notification system?

I have not received any notification since late last night.

Have checked my settings and all is as should be but a few new topics and replies have been posted for which I should have received notifications.

Same here. Nil email notifications since sometime late this morning.

I have checked my subscribed forums and topics and there should have been loads coming through....

Any chance somebody at TV can give us an indication as to what the problem is and when it might be resolved?

One more on to the list - none received all day even though replies have been made (can check easily on the Watched Content panel on the home page though - a useful little feature :)).

And...contrary:

I received a whole bunch of "notification to subscribed topics" but don't see the message when I open the link.

edit:

there's something strange going on with TV's messages and topics

It's very hard for us to see if notification emails really reaches the recipient or not, we can see that our SMTP server connects correctly, but then its all out of our control.

I have reset the outgoing mailserver for now, and pushed out a few pending emails.

If you have an Yahoo email address, change your email address to something else, as Yahoo Mail treats notification emails from many forums and community websites as spam and just refuses to deliver them.

I am monitoring our outgoing forum emails for now. Please let me know if this have helped so far.

Seems they're working again - a whole load came in this morning. Hopefully back to normal now rather than just sending out in batches.

The reply above came through on it's own so looks like they're not being batched either. Thanks for getting it back working again wai.gif.

Everything seems to be back to normal, now thanks. there were 103 emails in my inbox this morning....

BTW I have always used Gmail for my notifications so it's not a junk mail issue.

Thanks George. It is working OK now. Got all pending posts since the outage started (a big load) but now they arrive individually as normal.

I was wondering if the notification of topics facility was down again, I haven't had a notification for well over 24 hours and I am aware that some of the topics I am subscribed to have had replies? My settings seem to be ok.

Oh well, looks like it's just me then.

If you are using Yahoo mail, that could be the reason, as Yahoo has problems with forum notification emails, not only from Thaivisa, but most forums.

We recommend to not use Yahoo email addresses for this reason.
