February 24, 201115 yr Just a quick warning to anybody wanting to stay there. I booked this hotel through Thai Visa for 19-21 Feb. On arriving I found that you can not park or drop your bags off at the hotel so you have to try to park in Robinsons car park which is bedlam and you have to walk a fair way with your bags. There is security everywhere with airport scanners etc as the princess is staying there. When I got to my room I overlooked the building site opposite (where the new central is being built) with cranes going past the window (on the 4th floor) and it was very noisy. I asked at reception about the problems and they said no problem Robinsons closes at 10pm so you can move your car then nearer to the hotel. I asked how did I get back into the hotel after 10pm with a reply of get a taxi for the long detour around town. I promptly checked out and made a complaint to the tour company who were great and spoke to the hotel and got me a full refund so a big thanks to them. Centara should of published these facts when people enquire about a booking and let travel agents know so these problems dont happen but TIT
February 24, 201115 yr Thanks for the Heads-up JMS, I was thinking of stopping there in a few weeks; not now .... looks like it's back to Top Mansion and running the gauntlet of being dragged into Steve's Sports Bar opposite!!
February 25, 201115 yr yes the central plaza shopping center is undergoing an expansion (which may well take another year to complete) which adjoins the centara hotel, anyway there is now much chaos as traffic is blocked and re-routed, construction taking place around the clock so is staying there probably should be offered some kind of nuisance discount.
February 25, 201115 yr Author But when you book they dont tell you so you only find out when you arrive. I was lucky and got my money back thanks to booking with Thai visa
