Hi,

My pug puppy got a bit excited and managed to step on the keyboard of my unibody macbook pro. He managed to pop off the colon/semi-colon key and in the process he broke one of the sides of the scissor hinge that holds the key in place.

I tried superglue, but the surface to bond is minute and the superglue is too rigid for the purpose and the bond breaks when I try to clip it back in place. Does anyone know of anywhere in Bangkok where I could get a replacement scissor hinge? I've seen websites in the UK and USA advertising them but the key plus hinge plus P&P would come to somewhere close to 1000 Baht for a tiny, flimsy bit of plastic which seems a bit excessive.

I do need to sort this as the keyboard looks crap with a missing key but am looking for a local, easier, cheaper option.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Oh well, I had to go ahead and buy from the UK. Went to the apple repair shop in Siam Discovery and phoned the one in Panthip, both of which said that they don't do the clips but could replace the whole keyboard for 10000+ Baht. I quietly told them where to stick it and went home and ordered online from the UK. Sometimes you've got to bite the bullet.
