Tool Hire Shops

Featured Replies

I need to compact the soil on a new patio that I'm laying, and being adverse to manual labour I'd like to rent / borrow a Rammer or something similar

The only problem is I haven't seen any tool hire shops in and around Bangkok, have you?

I wish I could tell you where to get a whacker at. I tried to find a whacker compacter & a sheeps foot & the most I could get out of the experience is to build up the soil & wait a year. You could build it as a slab & use rebar if the present soil is already hard. Or the archaic way a dull bar to make a rammed earth foundation . Probably a days worth of labor for some Thai willing to break a sweat.

Yeah, although I didn't end up hiring in the end as the terms were quite high. So ended up getting some guys to do it the good old fashioned way.

I was also looking at hiring a pressure washer but their terms at a 1000 baht a day, with a 10000 Baht deposit. Plus you have to rent for three days and they return two days rental when you return..

That was from

So I ended up buying a 120 bar pressure Black and Decker pressure washer from the Home Pro expo for 3000 Baht.

Here's some other links to some shops with stuff for sale which may prove useful

too (which may make more sense).
