Pocket Pc And Edge

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am looking for buying one of those Pocket PC that supports EDGE from Dtac (Hi-speed Internet unlimited for 999.-).

Does anyone have a Pocket Pc (Windows 2005) that he would recommend?

Thank you for your help,

Laurent

The HP Mobile Messenger is the only Pocket PC/phone I can think of that current supports EDGE. It's quite good (the GF has one), but call reception isn't as good as (say) my Nokia. It's Windows Mobile 2003 though.

As far as I know, WM 2005 isn't out yet.

I think WM5 is out for some "smart" phones , came out in july - the reports from dell is it will have it for the axim in october - though I have been in contact will dell malaysia and the handheld people there do not know when it will be out.

and I still think the best mobile option is the seperate phone and pocket pc , just connect to the phone via bluetooth when you want to connect via GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA.

Thank you guys, very useful information. I think I will wait until Windows 2005 is available. I know that it is supposed to support VOIP - SIP.

Thanks

Laurent

O2 XDA Exec should be released in Thailand soon

The HP mobile messenger wont be upgraded to WM 2005 by the way.

Dell released the first WM 2005 Pocket PC today, the X50i. Very nice with VGA screen but suffers from only 64MB RAM IMHO. The VGA machines really would run a lot better with 128.
