Water Problems In Pattaya - Thing Of Past?

Local Association announces that Pattaya’s water problems are a thing of the past.

The Business and Tourism Association of Pattaya held a meeting at the Green park Resort in Naklua, chaired by Khun Tanaert. He had some very good news for association members who have voiced their concerns on the water supply problems and what the future holds. He announced that a pipeline project running from a Bangkok Reservoir to Bang Pla in Siracha which was due for completion by June 2007 will be completed by the end of October this year. This reservoir is already connected to the Maprachan Reservoir and as soon as the pipeline is complete, then Pattaya should have a year round supply of water regardless of the monsoon season. This is good news for hotels and tourist attractions who were concerned that problems would arise during the forthcoming high season. We now await confirmation of the completion of the pipeline and as soon as we have it we will bring the news to you here on Pattaya City News.

This is fantastic news, if true. I'll be anxiously awaiting input from you current residents on it's validity.

Can't say it is a "thing of the past" until it truly is. Wait until the construction is completed and everything is operating smoothly first. It'd be the same as saying problems at the new airport are a "thing of the past."

It's the first I've heard of a pipeline to our reservoir from BKK, but I've ranted earlier about a pipeline from our reservoir to Pattya previously. If it comes to past that we are simply a relay station, then that's fine.

Any info on the capacity of the BKK reservoir or the flow rate to this area? Will it be enough to supply the huge demand?.... I certainly have my doubts....

If that is an example of things to come, then one might think it's water not from a reservoir in BKK, but one of the nasty khlongs there... :D

Kurgen... I agree. Just wish the news was coming from an official government spokesman. Why did a civilian tourist organization make the announcement???

:D

Barry... Thanks. My favorite player. I felt lucky to watch him play live only once in double header, but what day... went 6 for 8 with 2 HR's and 7 RBI's on the day. Kept the scorecard from that day. Amazed at his unorthodox batting stance. An awesome Hall of Fame player for 22 seasons.

John, Where are you from? I'm now living in So Cal, but I'm originally from South Boston. A bit older than you, I suspect. I actually saw the guy Yaz replaced play.

My wife and I have already purchased our house in Pattaya, and will be moving there sometime after March of next year. If you're a New England native, we'll have to get together for some games. Although, as my avatar clearly indicates, I'm MUCH more into the NFL than MLB.

Sawatdee Krap, Johng -

I like the picture of the current water situation.

By the way, what's that swimming in the brownish water?

Is it what I think it is......a fish? Who knows what little oddities of nature will come floating up next time in the tap water.

It's actully the chain for the sink plug...not a fish, wouldn't surprise me if one day fish where to come out..

The only thing surprising would be fresh, clean non smelly and hopes of all hopes drinkable water from the tap......:o

Today the water is quite clear..but still doesn't smell to good. :D
