OK, I have found that it takes several days for my avatar change to take effect. I kept changing it thinking it wasn't working and then noticed that it had changed seemingly by itself. So, I figured, maybe it takes 2-3 days for the avatar to change? I have tried it in IE and Firefox, both have the same apparent non-effect. What gives?

Maybe you should clear your browser cache, or hit reload?

Next time I want to change it I will give that a try. I usually clear my cache pretty regularly, and (sometimes when my internet isn't working so great) will reload the page often. Also, I close my browser pretty often too, shouldn't that clear the cache automatically?

do you check the file size yet ? at control panel (my control>Avatar Settings)

maybe proportion is changed ... so correct it in the right number (from calculate..it should be 51 x 90 ( original file 88x156)

Log out with "delete cookies set by this board", clear your cache, then log back in. Should do the trick.

clearing the cache showed the new avatar. Next time I do it I will change the avatar then clear the cache then refresh the browser and see if that works. I suspect a few other members have had this happen too.

I have had those problems before, but these were of my own doing, (not deleting my old one, and size was too big) then I did the opposite to what I just wrote above many time.

Just changed mine, no problems without going through all the rig-ma-roll that has been mentioned.

What I did was deleted my old one and placed my new one in (hey presto) and pressed Update Avatar and it worked within a few seconds. (as long as the new one is not more than 90 x 90).
