I am looking for an outdoor dining set, not the plastic tables and chairs, but something a little more upscale.

Any ideas where I can find a good selection so I can avoid places with absolutely no selection (1 or 2 items only)?

You could try Index on the Superhighway. They usally have a few outdoor items to choose from and certainly not the cheapest.

There are a number of shops that sell upscale outdoor furniture on the road to Ban Tawaii. After turning left off of Hang Dong Road there are a number of shops halfway between Hang Dong Road and Ban Tawaii.

Thanks Artamus & Shepsel for the ideas, I had looked at Index before and nothing really rocked the boat. I haven't been out to Baan Tawai for a while, will have to head out that way and see what is available.

The furniture market area in Lamphun has a huge selection at the best possible prices if you don't mind the trip (about 20km from Chiang Mai). If you don't see anything you like they can manufacture something for you so long as you can describe what you want.
