I want an Ipod but I thought there maybe a phone that can do the job. Hold around 500 - 1000 tracks that i can play though my car stereo. A retailer in Pattaya told me the Samsung Galaxy S, is anyone using their phone for this purpose with success, or should I buy the Ipod? He also quoted me the 18,500. Eager to hear best options. Thanks.

How about an IPhone, it have Ipod built right in. Other than that any smartphone should be able to store and play music. If you want 500+ songs in it just make sure you have enough memory for it. If you want to play it from your car stereo just buy a FM transmitter for it, unless your car come with a usb port than you're golden.

Thanks for the quick reply and advice. I was suggested 16mb Samsung, is this sufficient. No my stereo does not have a usb, when u say fm built-in, can I have this additional to the std phone facilities, like an add-on. Sorry I'm not real cluey when it comes to this technology.

I think you will be fine with pretty much any phone to be honest. If your current handset is fairly modern you may well be able to use that.

Your car stereo may also have an Aux socket on the front somewhere which resembles a headphone socket. If this is the case, and your phone of choice has a normal headphone socket you could connect via a cable with a jack plug on each end.

You don't need to spend heaps of cash on Samsung Galaxy S or iPhones to do what you require. You can do it with pretty much any handset but, as mentioned it needs a large enough memory.
