Sawasdee Khrup, Khun Eek,

I recently made some comments on a thread about graphic arts, that I believe you experienced as hurtful or critical. Later, in another long post on another topic, I quoted something you had said in the graphic arts thread, and evidently that upset you so much you got SBK to remove it: I can only ask you to believe that at the time I used that quote I thought it was funny.

And, I would like to publicly express my apologies to you.

My sense of humor, is, I realize, sometimes not congruent with most other peoples': to which I plead: "sanity" :)

I have posted often without fully thinking through what I posted; for you my comments may have crossed the line from parody, or satire, based on my perception of your "pink pussycat airhead" persona, whose name is homophonic with a mouse-squeak, over into the no-fun land of sarcasm which you may have taken personally, which is hurtful. If that's so, I regret it !

My "skin's thickness," my sensitivity to perceived insult or ridicule, varies over time as life's stresses wax and wane, so, I assume, does yours.

In closing may I offer you a short excerpt from Robert Burns' poem "To a Mouse, on Turning Her Up in Her Nest with the Plough:"

But Mousie, thou art no thy lane, (note: 'lane' means 'alone')

In proving foresight may be vain:

The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men

Gang aft agley,

An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,

For promis'd joy!

Hoping this message may leave you with a smile.

sincerely, Bill aka ~o:37;

p.s. the above offer may be void in your state, and your mileage may vary: local laws and conditions apply. none of the above should be construed as promissory of abstinence from future atrocities, calumnies, or bizarre responses.
