Does anyone know how to get the public bus from pattaya to rayong , how much is it and how often , also any cheap places to stay in rayong ?

i thought rayong was just commercial factories etc....

i didn't know there was anything down there other than factories??

From Pattaya, there are hardly any direct Ban Phe buses (if you wanna go to koh samet) so you're probably best off taking a bus to Rayong (every 30min; 1hr 30min) and then one of the half-hourly songthaews.

There are tourist minibuses from Pattaya as well, which can be booked through most hotels and cost B150 -

Coming by bus from points further east, such as Chanthaburi or Trat

There are a handful of hotels in the streets around the bus station which are OK but no great shakes.

The Public Bus leaves from out on the Sukhumwit Road. All the moto boys will know where to take you. Going down usually seems faster then heading back up for some reason.

nt pattaya rd bus station about 90b,and it all depends if you want stay in the big city or a resort big diff,i love koh samet at banphe just past raynong 25ks from raynong ,minibus 200 oneway and 50 b on the boat look it up in thailand hotels and islands

hmm.... it's apparent not many people are quite familiar with rayong province, outside of samet...

no wonder it's peaceful, quiet, and inexpensive in dozens of very nice and beautiful places that i've been to there.

Perhaps you should go and have a look - assuming you can unbind yourself from Bkk.
