Hey all,

I've been in Thailand for about 6 months, spent 5 months living at a gym in Salaya and currently in the Silom area getting a TEFL. My dream is to get a job somewhere in the sticks where I can teach English to kids and get some good training. I want to live in the sticks for the people, food, way of life, I want to teach English to kids because it will be a way for me to stay in Thailand and I'll enjoy it, and I want to train Thai Boxing because I love it and it's what brought me to to Thailand. Anyway, additional perks would be a scenic area without too many foreigners. I will be traveling the area next month, any suggestions on places to check out?

At the top of my list so far are Loei, Sisaket and Nong Bua Lamphu. I am also interested in Buriram, Ubon and Mukdahan. If there's time, I will check out Surin and Khorat. Any additional suggestions or feedback on these locations would be GREATLY appreciated, as information about some of these areas is somewhat hard to come by on the internet.

Thanks for reading, seems like a great forum so far. :)

For an obscure change and countryside setting, you might try the lovely river province of Amnat Charoen or another place not to be missed is Chaiyaphum Province and the marvelous array of areas left to wildflowers and forests.....right now, up to another couple of months the flowers are stunning! Good luck with your adventures.
