New Tourist Visa—Penang Or Savannakhet ?

Featured Replies

Need some advice. Should I go to Penang or to Savannakhet for a new Thai tourist visa, hopefully 2 entry.

Here is my situation, prior to 2011 I existed with one year visas obtained in Perth, Australia, now sadly closed. I got a single entry tourist in Feb 2011, extended in Bangkok last month, expiring in 10 days.I have read that Penang are refusing new tourist visas to people who extend previous tourist visas. Four years ago I visited Sav for a tourist visa and got one easily. I have emailed Bananapenang, but have not got an answer as yet (1 day).

Can anyone advise on the status of Penang, or is it better to go to Laos ?

Thanks.

I recently went to Sava to do the same thing. I marked on my application form 2 entries please. Next day I went back to collect passport and had no issues.

The only thing about the visa run to Sava is that there is not much to do in the town but wait.

Wish you luck

Thanks. Might be looking to a trip to Isan! I wish the Perth office would reopen--- the good old days.
