Submitted Ds-160 Online With An Error

Featured Replies

My girlfriend submitted the DS-160 US tourist visa application and then scheduled the appointment. She then realized that there is a minor error on the form. Is there any way to now go back and edit the application? If we try to log in with the application code, it says 'code not recognized'.

On another website I found this:

Once the Form DS-160 has been electronically submitted, no changes are possible. However, if you have not taken the appointment yet, you can upload the file saved on your local computer, make the change, submit a new application and print new confirmation page with the new bar code and schedule your appointment. After you have taken the appointment, no changes to DS-160 can be made. If you would like to make any changes after taking the appointment, you will have to cancel the appointment, fill new DS-160 and get new confirmation page, and schedule new appointment.

Unfortunately we did not save the application to the computer.

So is the only option to cancel the appointment and then submit a new DS-160 and then make a new appointment with the use of the new DS-160 application code?

If so, what will become of the original application?

Thanks!
