Karon Beach Road.Why No Progress?

Featured Replies

I was driving the beach road today,Kata-Karon..the traffic came to a stop outside Kata villa.

Road full of potholes from not finishing the road, also the rest of Karon no progress from what they started last year?

Are they waiting for high season to finish the road again?

Yes they could be waiting to pave the road until the dry season, which happens to be when tourists like to come here...

It was supposed to be completed in January according to a sign that was outside The Waterfront.

I think the budget got thin because all the chefs were in the kitchen on this one.

I agree with the OP.

But on a happier note, How great is Patak road now!

From the south end of Kata all the way to the roundabout in Karon, It is a pleasure to drive!

Fine until just before Wat Karon, but through Karon Village is a nightmare.

Supposedly it has to do with the different companies needing to put things underground, and lo and behold, they all do it on different schedules!

Water, dig it up put in a pipe, cover it. Oh, now electric, dig it up, put it in the ground cover it. Oh, now phone lines, dig it up put them in the ground, cover it. Amazing Thailand!

I agree, they seem very determined to never finish that project (Karon Beach Rd.) It was a mess during the FIVB Volley Tour in October. I bet it will be again this year. TIT!!
