I had to get in touch with the Teacher's Council because my school has sent all the necessary documents for applying for a waiver (officially called provisional teaching permit) by mail since March 31st, but no reply so far.

Today I tried to call them but it was very hard to get through.

Then I finally got the receptionist (at extension 503) and she gave me the following extension numbers:

538

02

283

6367

You've got to dial the following number first: 022804334, where the last number can be replaced by a 5 till 8. Usually 022804338 worked best. Then dial the extension after you hear the recorded tape being played.

Hopefully these numbers are of any help to other foreign teachers.

The outcome was unfortunately that my papers have disappeared and now the best thing is to go their by myself (from Buri Ram). No other choice it seems.

Good luck.

The two year temporary licenses take about six weeks to be issued. Once you qualify foe the five year license it takes about six to nine months for it to be issued once you apply.
