Is anyone..(everyone)...getting this very slow speed thesedays??

I've been using it for 3 years now...no complaints..but this last month the speed is very very slow..international or Thai connections.

A thai friend says his is the same.

I read a few days ago something about a CAT/True tie-up with a different transmission in the pipeline,,could this account for the slow speeds being experienced?

Speed for me has been Ok but keeps losing the signal and disconnecting, difficult somtimes to re-connect although the signal strength is good.

Keep getting "remote computer not responding". I too have been using for around 3 years and this last few months has been awful, sadly I got no alternative.

Slow here in Isaan (Kalasin) too. At best 400-500 kbps, but often much slower and after maybe one hour or so on line, no connection at all. Before I had about 700-900 kbps almost all the time.

I all so have been using CAT CDMA for many years, and over the past months there's certainly been a deterioration , I am using a MC727 USB modem on an Apple iMac and an external roof antenna and constant full signal, I have tried an application called - namebench , shown in post number 1 here ... Namebench

Once I ran the application it came up with the fastest and nearest DNS servers it could find ...

I ran a long test ( above test was a short test ) and it came up with the current best DNS servers , so I re set my DNS settings on my Mac to match the recommended one's , and once re set , the CAT speeds did improve , but still not as good as they were in the past .

I now regularly run a DNS test , just to see how things are .

Last few days it's been taking up to 10 minutes to connect, both on Mac and PC.... Mac was usually much faster and connected instantly.... the PC up to a minute... before. Very annoying! (MC 727)

However speeds seem to be normal and reasonable for most things, once connected... the odd day it can be slow. (on Samui)....

For those on Samui, I am told by True that we will have 3 g service in one month... CAT office says August.... I guess they are sorting out the pre-martial agreements!.... we shall see! ;)

It's terrible indeed same here, CM center. One lady at the office says a 'node' needs a reset, at the other office they say there are too 'many users'. Anyway the people ate CAT are the most friendly and helpful when comparing with the totally unprofessional and not interested chicks at 3BB etc. Hope they solve it soon because this is total crap.
