Telophone Aus. From Laos

I'll be in Laos 4 next 12 days, I know the telephone system is not as good as thai, but is there a cheap way to ring o'seas from there,

any info appreciated.

Sure. just buy a Lao SIM for your phone and call.

FYI, lots of Thai who live along the Mekong buy Lao SIMs so that then can make cheap calls.

FYI II, Laos has 3G, as does Vietnam and Cambodia, and I think perhaps Burma, too. Thailand, sadly, is way behind these "under developed" countries in many ways!!
