How To Get To Kamphaeng Phet In Evening

Featured Replies

I need to get to (just south) of Kamphaeng Phet after my flight is arriving at about 1830. What are the choices of getting there that night, or better to wait for morning. Aslo, what is the best way to get there, even in the morning? Taxi prices, bus prices, mini bus prices ?????

I live in Klong Kan which is 65 km southwest of Khampaeng Phet and a first class bus ticket is about 279 baht and the journey is less than 6 hours so it is close enough as the distance is about the same. I think most Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai buses stop there anyway but there are probably direct ones as well.

The buses go from Mor Cit bus terminal so you would have to get to there from the airport first and if you are lucky it will take you maybe a couple of hours from landing to your arrival at Mor Chit and then maybe 30 minute to an hour to find the ticket office etc and get onto the bus.

The last time I was in a taxi on BKK I looked at the fare card and BKK to KP was close to 3,000 baht and will take about the same time for travelling.

I have no experience of mini buses I am afraid.

My suggestion is to stay overnight perhaps somewhere reasonably priced in BKK close to a BTS station, have a good nights relaxation and sleep, catch an early morning Skytrain to Mor Chit BTS, a taxi to the bus terminal, 10 minutes or so and maybe 50 baht and then catch a bus up to KP.

Thanks for that. I was in Mor Chit once before and was totally baffled

So far I have only gone one way on the bus which is from Klong Lan to BKK but it should be fairly easy to find someone there who can help you out.
