Ok, I found this car made by Toyota called "Sparky". I checked on Toyota's website in Thailand and I cannot find it. Does anyone have this vehicle? I would like to know your personal opinions on this car. Here is what it looks like Toyota Sparky If one2car has a 2011 Toyota Sparky... why isn't on the Thai website?

I'll hazard a guess here.

It is probably a grey-market import, ie not available at your local dealer. Looks like an Indonesian designed model - probably actually a Daihatsu?

However, 350k for anything 2011 and Toyota isn't a bad deal at all.

Except this idea of these larger capacity vehicles having smaller engines then the average car is mind boggling and completely devoid of any logic whatsoever.. I'd never own one it's destine for the junk heap before it's even hit the road..

Technically, all cars are destined for the junk heap before they hit the road.

Anyways, you can't tell me you haven't seen a Toyota passenger van still rocking way past bed time. Underpowered...yes.

Well built...yes again.

Of course I knew every vehicle is destined for the junk heap just like everything is, even us, but I think my meaning was understood.

Regardless of how long any vehicle can last, there are just certain vehicles that shouldn't have certain engines in them. 1.3 <deleted>? I would never want to be on a highway going anywhere with this van full of passengers and their luggage or whatever, the scooters would be passing it and don't even think about going up a hill.

Being under rated engine wise is a certain cause for premature death in the engine and drive train or constant related problems and could also be the same cause for the passengers deaths as well if it can't even get out of it's own way. Besides a smaller engine isn't always efficient either, if it has to work too hard to gain it's momentum and hold it, it will not be efficient as it will always be working twice as hard as a bit larger engine, working harder = more fuel consumed..

Bottom line the logic is failing to put these smaller engines in these pseudo-cargo passenger vans that fall far short. It's a failing of a past dog of a car similar to this that Toyota hardly sold any of and then discontinued some years back, it's so obscure the name escapes me but all the ones I saw were already heading for the junk yard only a few years old with constant engine/drive train issues reminiscent of when Toyota first came out with the Corollas and such..

JFYI This model looks similar to the Toyota Db and has a similar engine package and price so it's likely the crossover but I do like the Sparky's styling better, price and features..

Tried to post this edit but it was too late.

Actually looking again it is priced very low compared to those Db's which flies in the face of being a grey import so it is a bit of curiosity about it's origins but it seems it's actually a Daihatsu..

Hi jet cargo

Exactly. The OP is looking at a Daihatsu (Toyota badged) multi-passenger vehicle with a very under powered engine.

Having said that, the price really isn't so bad for what you get.

If the OP is looking for a runaround vehicle which only occasionally has a full load (7 people) - this looks like a pretty decent used buy.

I guess in that case possibly, as I said in my closing sentence, it does have some appeal especially in a standard shift package, it seems quite well appointed if it has no legality issues.. One of my translations says something about "not leaving the country" in terms of it's registry.. I like the last one in bronze for 350,000 the interior is in better shape and more to my liking in terms of color, I can see some utility for a small Van/Truck like this if you don't over-burden it.. It would be a much better tuk tuk then the ones they have in Phuket too for example, at least when they charge you 500b for a 4 km ride you could do it in A/C  .

Indonesia has huge tax breaks for 7 seats and less than 1300cc, so I guess thats the source

Cheapest Toyota officially in TH is Vios/Yaris 1500cc starting at approx 530k baht
