Vietnam Beaches

Featured Replies

Looking for small, non-touristy beach bungalow in Vietnam for a few weeks or a month.

When I was in Saigon, had some folks tell me about a place that, this time of year, $10 a night will get you something quite nice and clean on this beach but can't remember where they said it was. Had some restaurants nearby, too. Sidewalks rolled up an hour or two after dark. Mighta been a fishing village.

Most important, must be quiet. Going for relaxation, reading and sleeping, not parties. :sleepy:

Any personal experiences?

Thanks.

I was in Hue in 2007. The beach was endless & not a single hotel in sight. Maybe 3 grass huts. Water was fabulous. No sounds other than the breeze in the palms.

Ha long bay?

No. Far to the south of what must now be sadly called "So Long Bay". It is just another beautiful & solitary place now utterly ruined by masses of farang tourist smoker backpackers.

Possibly the place is Mui Ne, about a 4 hour bus ride north of HCM/Saigon. At least 5 miles of quiet beach. Cheap accomm, food and drink. Only mildly backpacker etc infested. Book the bus from almost any central travel agent.

Sounds good. Thanks.

I second Mui Ne.....absolutely beautiful beach and water, enough choices of old skool, medium or more expensive bungalow accommodation right on the beach, with the right prices. Little nightlife and no parties. In addition have the fabulous sand dune landscape 15km away for a day trip. Not too far away from HCMC. Great place!
