I was tired of AIS and their GPRS/EDGE internet serves so I got a new mobile number for my iPhone 4.3.1 and on post paid account. They said for 599 baht per month I get unlimited 3G internet etc.

So for the last 2 days not only does the 3G signal show only maybe 3% of the time but people can o ly call my mobile number 20% of the time. I have called their "tech service" line 1331 many times and after I click "9" for English and wAit 10 minutes, a recording saying "all of our English speaking representatives are busy at the moment due to a large Buber of calls regarding our service interruption at the moment. Please press 1 to receive a text message when this problem has been resolved."

I already sent emails to all of my contacts telling them I have the new miner, changed my number on my CV's, in the signature of my email etc and when I went back to True in Tesco North Pattaya the bitch just kept saying "ok, show passport I will cancel." I still can't get a real customer service rep on the phone to help.

Has or is anyone else experiencing problems with True Mobile internet 3G service?

Are you sure there is sufficient 3G coverage in your location? Maybe ask someone if they can get 3G there.

Are you sure you have the SIM correctly activated? Have you set up the APN? Can you make outbound calls? Can you use another phone to make test calls to your phone? What do you get when you dial #123# ? How about the replies when you send a text to 9789 with only the lower-case letter b in the body.

Note that the Free Size iPhone Post-paid 599 baht plan gives 3 GB of 3G per month, then down to 256 Kbps after that until a new billing cycle starts.

Sorry I should have said I am in Pattaya. They claim to have the 3G here now. Regarding all the info you gave me about dialing #123# etc I have no idea what that does or about sending text with small letter "b" etc. If you can tell me more please? Today I will go to True and ask for another sim with same number in case this one is not good. Yes I can call out and text out too and I have 2 other mobiles I have been trying to call my True number with but maybe 1 out of 10 times it works.

Thanks for the input and I will get back later today after I get a new sim

I understand True have 3G in Pattaya, but Pattaya is a large area and there is not, as I understand it, 3G coverage everywhere in Pattaya. You may be currently outside of the area covered by 3G. http://www.truemove.com/3g/en/wifi_area_pattaya.html

If you bring up a dial pad, like you were calling someone and enter #123# and then dial, what reply do you get?

If you open an SMS window, like you were sending an SMS to someone, and entered 9789 as the telephone number to send the SMS to, and in the body enter b , then send. Do you get back any reply?

You would appear to have multiple problems, 1. not being able to receive voice calls consistently and 2. not having access to 3G. Maybe best for you to go to a True shop and get them correct all your problems.

OP, I had similar problems when I switched to True. After contacting support and experimentation, I fixed it. Try these things before you replace your sim.

1. Go to Settings-General-Reset (at the bottom) and choose Reset Network Settings

2. Reboot your phone, or turn off and then on again.

That will clear out all the old network settings, reset it to True, and should get you 3G and cure any call connection issues.

Thanks guys. I did all the re-set network etc many times so now I have gone back to True and got a new sim and it seems to be ok so far. At the same time I was also having problems with my iPhone crashing When I clicked Safari. It would keep rebooting in safe mode. When to tukcom to the shop where they jailbroken it and he un-installed "safari download manager" and it too seems to be ok now.

Thanks for all the help and advice.
