Bitcoin Mining Rig- Pantip Or Fortune Town?

Featured Replies

is pantip or fortune town better? i will build based on a MSI 890FXA-GD70 motherboard but with just a single video card to start. but a psu of 1kw or so to allow for 4 cards in the future. thinking of a radeon hd 5830 or 5770 to start. are these easy to get here in Bangkok?

any and all tips are most appreciated.

thanks RKASA! that is it, just 512mb cache instead of 1gb. i will look over that site for other components. :)

I think they have outlets most everywhere as well - should have them down there too.

Too late, it crashed already, you can stop your 'pump and dump' campaign now.

You do realise that the network automatically scales difficulty as more capacity is brought online, right? If this is actually a money-making exercise *buying* hardware might not be such a good idea. There are alternatives, like contributing your existing capacity to a collective.

Yeah, it is set up to increase difficulty to keep the production of coins fairly constant. I think it changes every two weeks? And no, it's not a money-making exercise as much as a learning exercise. I have always liked to build my own machines, and I am interested in learning more about cryptopgraphy as well as building my first pc with linux and no hard drive or optical drive. There is a client that runs on a thumb drive called "linuxcoin" that a bitcoin forum member is developing.

If I make money, cool, and if not I will learn a lot in the process about Linux and digital currency and encryption. And I had planned to mine with a pool from the start. As of right now I have no machine here that is suitable.

Ok, one thing I have found: Bitcoin flatlines your processor. You need to have adequate cooling.
