...is to check her hands. If the ring finger is longer than the index finger=born male. If the index finger is longer than the ring finger=born female.

You have no more excuses for any future accidents.

Mine are the same length.....

So I am a hermaphrodite?

On my left hand, my index finger and my ring finger are of absolutely the same length. But, on my right hand, my index finger is slightly longer than my ring finger (the difference is probably not noticeable in a dark bar). I accept that you are probably a hermaphrodite, but what am I? My wife (and my two daughters) are anxiously waiting for a reply.....

I like this. Science in action!

Someone makes a very dubious statement or hypothesis. It's instantly disproved by two experimental observations. Result: another urban myth kicked to the sidelines!

Rational thought is cool.

I thought the question was... "The Most Important Thing You Must Know Before Visiting Thailand"?

Knowing whether or not some stranger is male, female, a Katoi, gay, married, single, or from outer space, ranks WAY down the list.

LIst of importance would be...

1. How long your visa lasts, and what needs to be done to renew it. And, where to go to get it renewed..

2. How to get from the airport to where you intend to stay.

3. How much, and what luggage you should bring with you

4. And, most important... How much money you will need for the length of your stay... and actually have it. That can be the tricky one because you are not allowed to work in Thailand as a visitor.

I think some of the tourists who visit Pattaya, don't agree with you.

I would agree that it's not the MOST important thing to know. However, I always insist on a crotch check. You. probably, could have your fingers adjusted.

That's only important if you choose to stay in Chiang Mai. Apparently, that is all anyone does there... eat. :D A quick check on that sub forum would tell you that.
