Can anyone recommend these cars or have anything to say about them?

My wife recently passed her driving test and wants one.

They seem reasonably cheap - 400,000 baht new.

Is it a better car than the Mazda 2?

Does anyone know if both these cars are available with automatic gears?

Thanks

Mate to a Nissan dealer and IF you can see or order the 400,000b model let me know. Because i've tried a few dealers and they don't know bupkiss.....

Also that price is for the manual gear, wind up window model. NOT the auto, electric window one..

good luck.

PS if ya looking at a cheap 1st car check out the Proton Savvy or the Saga.

Ive got a manual one at the moment whilst my pickup is in for panel and paint repairs, coming from a 3.0/auto diesel pick-up into a 1.2 petrol manual I was surprised at how zippy the little thing is, rather fun scooting around town it.

My chum has one with CVT auto. I have driven it and it is a great nippy car. Car handles the crap roads brilliantly without banging your head on the roof. Very easy to get used to. For driving pleasure of a wee car l recommend it. :)

Saw the Honda Brio parked roadside last night, in white, stopped and had a closer look. The all black glass hatch reminds me of Volvo 480 and of course Honda Civik MK2. Looks great, but as March is available for purchase while waiting for Brio may take long, I guss March is today a better choice

When I first saw the Brio, my first though was they had got one back on the Chinese and stolen one of their designs for a change ;)

You have to admit it does look pretty similar to the BYD F0...

it does, but its wider Civic MKII hatch and the bmw/accord/bangles side tweeaks makes it unique. not beautiful, unique :whistling:

a good looking car in this segment would be the Toyota/daihatsu, made/sold in Malaysia as MyVi

Base Nissan March 375,000 Manual, hand crank windows. Steal wheels with no hub caps. no tach, no radio,

Next step up at 425,000 includes everything power and upgrades with Manual

I have a CVT auto I got for 455,000. I love it, Seats 5 like Yaris or Jazz and larger than the New Brio, and less expensive. I have driven to Pattaya from Chiang Mai and BKK several times and no problems on hills. Running the A/C and with fat little aftermarket wheels and tires I get 21 kpl on the highway

I love it so much I ordered another one since I can't get this one away from my wife. But to be safe the second one will be Manual so she won't take it.

Mazda 2 is much more exspensive and no more room and best gets 15 kpl

Soon the 4 door sedan version will be out. if you like that better

Wife has the CVT VL model. 537,00 Baht if I remember correctly. She loves it and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Really is a nice little car, fairly nippy and quite comfortable. Ideal for around town, taking kids to school.........

Great little cars.

They do exactly as they are expected to.

Cheap to buy, cheap to run.

You get road noise when driving over 100kph but that is to be expected from a car as light as this

I recently delivered one to Chiang Mai and the drive was a pleasure.

Bang Na to Chiang mai only 1,200 Baht in fuel, 724km.

Lets hope they catch on S.M.W. These big trucks are used by the thousands to do a Brios/March Shopping and School duties. Im no Tree Hugger, but just look how many stand in Government Office car parks all day, not exactly sensible, then a 3 Litre Blast back home.:jap:

Got my pickup back today, seriously what an under powered clunker compared to the mighty March !!!!

That's a BYD (Build Your Dreams) f0 - hugely popular in China, Vietnam, and Laos, where it sells for the equivelant of ~200K Baht.

Hi did you manage any discount or free accessories? It seems for the honda brio at least they are prepared to give very little away in terms of accessories or discount..

I was told October if you order the Auto now; sooner for the Manual. I've driven the auto and it's not bad. It's just ticking over about 2200 rpm at 100 km/h, and I got over 19km/l on the test drive; wife got over 21. It's relatively large inside but the small arse is worrisome as the rear passengers heads are quite close to the glass.

The few extra goodies thrown in for the March, posted above is also tempting, though the March won't return as good fuel economy (close though). This Month, the brio sold over 700 cars while the march exceeded 3000 units. I expect the brio to cut into that over the coming months.

Honda won't have any problems giving you a test drive though. We covered about 30 kms. That was the longest test drive the saleslady had been on. I think Thais just drive up the road and back, which seems a little pointless.

I've got a feeling thats a lot better than what Honda will do for the Brio:)
