Hi there,

UK passport holder.

Not booked my flight tickets yet, but I should be arriving in Thailand 5th August and departing 10th September.

Now, around the 20th of August I'll be flying to Australia for about a week and returning to Thailand, What would the best visa for this be?

Am I right in thinking the Visa exemption rule wouldn't work for me since when I arrive in Thailand around the 5th of August, my return flight back to the UK will be more than 30 days which would make me not eligible for it.

Correct me if i'm wrong but I think a double tourist visa is the best/cheapest way to go about this. Use the 1st entry when arriving in Thailand and the 2nd entry on my return from Australia?

Thanks for any help.

Do you have your ticket to Aust. if so this is your on going flight out of Thailand during the first 30 days. Then another 30 day visa exempt stay and your return to England handles this.

i won't be in posession of the Australia ticket until after I arrive in Thailand unfortunately.

Does that mean the double tourist is my best bet?

thanks for the help

Actually a single TV would do as he'll be in possession of a flight out of Thailand within 30 days when returning from Oz.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Your right single, for initial entry, would work - I had read his " 5th of August, my return flight back to the UK will be more than 30 days which would make me not eligible for it." to be his return from Oz period being more than 30 days rather than noting that 5 August was his initial entry so he was talking the entire time being more than 30 days. I have an excuse - fasting for medical today so no cuppa coffee. :whistling:

Perfect!

That's why I asked - great news (saved almost £30 !) :)

On arriving in the airport under the visa exemption rule on return from Australia, is it just a stamp? ie. No charge for visa. Do I just need to show my return ticket out of Thailand to UK?

Been to Thailand 4 times though on non-imms/tourist visas so this will be the first.

Thanks again guys!

Yes, it would be just a free stamp in your passport at Thai immigraiton. No need to show your ticket, immigraiton leaves checking that over to the airlines.
