A man from Belgium and his wife fight because of the use of a mobile phone and the woman demands 700.000 Baht compensation

A Belgian man named Freddie Meger (44) and his wife Sawai Goonchornrak (31), have ended up in hot water at Pattaya Police Station after continuous arguing with each other, resulting in physical abuse.

In the early hours of October 23rd Police were called to the Gent Bar Beer, on Soi 7 off Beach Road, by the owner of the pub. An incident between a farang and his Thai girlfriend had erupted in the bar causing the owner to close the place. Arriving at the scene Police found the two still arguing and showing signs of injuries to both people.

The argument started after the man wanted to use her phone, which she refused causing him to fly into a rage where he started abusing her verbally to which she responded to in the same fashion. Then they both resorted to attacking each other with various items from around the bar including a metal chair and other items.

They were taken to Pattaya Police Station where it appeared they have a history of brawling with each other, and while at the Police station the woman demanded 700.000 Baht in compensation, which the Police told her would not be forth coming as they were both culpable in this affair.

Police charged both of them with common assault and warned them of much more serious charges if they are arrested again. The lady didn't get her 700.000 Baht but received a fine instead, together with her husband.

Good on the BIB, makes a nice change from the "Farang always being the guilty one" :o

I wish Pattaya People would be consistent. First they say husband and wife then later they say farang man and his thai girlfriend :D
