It was more relaxed. More Jai yen Lifestyle.

I like that. I was out on an island for a couple of years and out in the country for a bit more, and I just enjoyed peace and quite, after my first very hectic 21 years in Europe.

I like it here now too, in Central America, for many of the similar reason. Thai folk are way cooler to hang out with though.

And if we get bored with that subject (yeah, right!) we can always discuss where to buy the best drugs or how to avoid being caught when playing poker, not to mention - hang on - I just got a PM from one of the the moderators. Will get back to y'all later...

Well, we could talk about davethailand's choice of attire when he goes slumming to other people's bars ?

Or we could talk about ways that the expats in Pattaya could help to improve the cities image, and types of charity work one could become involved in.

We once did a topic on all the non-bar/non-bargirl related things to see and do in Pattaya.

What interests you about Pattaya (besides girls and drinking 24 hours a day, other topics that have been covered at one time or another) ?

Compare Thailand to Canada ?

Hmmm, where to begin ?

Thailand - warm (all year round ! )

Canada - Cold (most of the year :D )

Thailand - friendly people, even strangers !

Canada - except for friends, not very friendly, especially strangers :D

Thailand - great food at great prices

Canada - great food, but at GREAT prices :D

Thailand - politicians that everyone knows are corrupt, and don't really try to hide it :D

Canada - politicians that everyone knows are corrupt, and do try to hide it :o

Thailand - girls that treat you like a king (even if it's not a part of their "job") :D

Canada - girls that treat you like crap (unless you are a rich, Chippendales poster boy that likes to throw money around without expecting anything in return) :burp:

Thailand - Girls picking their noses in public :D

Canada - Girls picking icycles off their noses :D

Thailand - poor drivers who run away after an accident

Canada - poor drivers with expensive lawyers

Thailand - Policies that treat non-Thais like 2nd class people

Canada - Policies that treat citizens like 2nd class people :D

Yeah, I was born and raised in Canada. Spent almost exactly half my life in uniform, ready to defend her if need be. For years now, I've been watching the slow, painful decline in what made her great.

Policy decisions on all manner of things are contributing to the decline. NAFTA, Immigration, Judicial problems, Military cut-backs, corrupt politicians, reverse-discrimination, ect ect.

While things in Thailand may not be perfect, at least I won't be enduring -45 degree weather while also suffering the effects of the above problems !

Is that kind of what you were looking for ?
