Asia Books Book Outlet

Featured Replies

Thought I would share with the rest of you.Just visited the newly opened Asia Books Book Outlet in the basement at Chamchuri Square (MRT Sam Yan). Apparently its a permanent book outlet, where they always have 30%-85% off on all books in the shop. Its a pretty big bookshop with a huge selection of both Thai and English books. Among the promotions are e.g.. guidebooks (Lonely Planet 2010 ed 30%, older ed, up to 85% off), cheap cookbooks (Jamie Oliver, Ramsay...) and of course tons of novels, non-fiction and all the normal Asia Books stuff.

More over, at the moment, they have buy 3, get on free on top of the other promotion.

Best,

Jakob

Good info! Thanks for taking the time to post.

It's very helpful for me as a noob to hear about these things that old timers may take for granted.

Have they organized the new store any better than the old one? Although they had a great selection of bargain books in the old store, it was very difficult to find specific titles or authors because nothing was alphabetized, just groupings of fiction, non-fiction, ect.

Its still pretty hard, but the staff is very helpful if you are looking for a specific title. But as it is a book outlet, I think it's fair enough that they don't spend a lot of time organizing the books, since they obviously don't make huge profits on the books in this shop.

And btw, the outlet is in the basement between Tesco Lotus and the parking lot. They also have a regular store at the 2nd floor, which have regular prices.

Jamora thanks for that. Went on Saturday and picked up a few. As mentioned, besides the 30% off most books, they currently have a 'buy 3, 1 free' deal. Pick out 4 and get the cheapest one free. Good selection of (relatively) current fiction and nonfiction.
