WOTTA GAME.

The crowd at the Auckland party central loved.

Wales 17

Samoa 10

Wales have beaten Samoa 17-10 for the first time in World Cup history to take a major step toward making the quarterfinals.

This RWC is really showing how many smaller nations are rising to the occaission.

Geogia must have frightened England till they tired, great game too.

Sarcasm or irony, intended or otherwise?

So far, I don't think that there have been any big surprises; the Irish are back on form, Canada have reiterated their claim to the second tier, and Romania and Georgia have reminded us that the gap between the top tier and the second tier of European nations is lessening. But its still there. And until teams like Namibia can go to the World Cup and reasonably hope to win a game, it will do little to improve the competitiveness of the third rank teams - Romania, Russia, Namibia.

This is quite brilliant.

All you need to find out how your country is doing.

Save to your computer......

Edit to comment, it seems to be a bit behind with results, but still good for most things.

Disappointing result for Japan against Tonga; in the event that they manage to finish third in the group and pre-qualify for 2016, will a second Asian team qualify for the Finals, or will the second team in the A5N still have to go through the repechage play-offs?

Probably an academic question, now...

Inevitable, dour and largely predictable, the Australians dealt the United States a good old-fashion towelling 67-5 in Wellington tonight (Friday).

Amazingly, The USA had most ball and most position.

BUT as any bargal will tell ya, need penetration or ya don't score.Akshully, the USA were pretty good....... but........

Aill Blacks have made a massive statement at Rugby World Cup 2011 by thumping France 37-17 at Eden Park.

In captain Richie McCaw's 100th test the New Zealanders scored five tries to two in claiming top spot in Pool A.

The statement being that you can beat the French reserves ?

I think the statement being that even in the world cup, home advantage seems to play a part.

Or maybe that the highest-ranked team in the world can beat the fifth-best team.

Or maybe that the French are not invincible.

England coaches suspended after ball swap

England suspended two coaches on Thursday from involvement in the next Rugby World Cup match against Scotland for switching the ball for Jonny Wilkinson's conversions against Romania.

The move by the Rugby Football Union staved off sanctions by World Cup organisers, but they were warned that any similar rule-breaches in future would be dealt with severely.

Kicking coach Dave Alred and national fitness coach Paul Stridgeon "mistakenly thought that there was an issue with some of the match balls" in England's Pool C win over Romania, according to the RFU.

England stopped switching after being warned during the game and the RFU accepts the coaches' actions were "in contravention of both the laws of the game and the spirit of the game."

What next, Johnson getting desperate.

Read it here.

ah, so this is where you have been hiding ! biggrin.gif

its called patience and having the self belief even when things arent going to plan to over ride the storm and not choke at the business end of the game that gets teams through. even when they are up against an old enemy that have upped their game just for the one occasion.

what will be interesting to see is if the all blacks will be able to pull it out the bag if faced with the same kind of scenario or will it be the same old story. whistling.gif

i hear Dan the man Carter has a groin strain and is out for the Canada game and there are even rumours that he may be crook for the rest of the tournament. still at least if the kiwis don't win it, they have an excuse now.wink.gif

Yeah well done the Irish!

Get real, it isn't whether New Zealand wins or not, it's about by how much. My guess is they will whup us Canucks by about 58 to 12. And that is only if Canada plays their A game. Canada played a very poor game against Japan and were lucky to get the tie.

i reckon there will be quite a few kiwis that may be feeling a little off their breaky this morning on hearing the news confirming that Carter is out for the rest of the world cup with the groin strain he picked up in training . ohmy.gif

Well I underestimated the loss. The Kiwis trounced the Canadians 79 - 15 despite the Canucks best effort at territorial play.
