October 22, 201114 yr Author Dunno how many of you know, or have heard the New Zealand national anthem. Here it is in full with a stunning pictorial showing scenes of my country, It starts with the short maori version and continues with the regular English version. A couple of small diversions alluding to the RWC 2011 Well worth a watch.
October 22, 201114 yr the kiwis have taken over this forum... which haka is likely to be performed in tonights RWC final? (you may not even care but) i like ka mate, but ever since kapa o pango came out (2005) and its interpretation was known to me, i definitely prefer it Published words and the NZRU explanation Kapa o Pango kia whakawhenua au i ahau! -All Blacks, let me become one with the land Hī aue, hī!Ko Aotearoa e ngunguru nei! -This is our land that rumbles Au, au, aue hā!It's my time! - It's my moment! Ko Kapa o Pango e ngunguru nei! -This defines us as the All Blacks Au, au, aue hā! -It's my time! It's my moment! I āhahā!Ka tū te ihiihi -Our dominance Ka tū te wanawana -Our supremacy will triumph Ki runga ki te rangi e tū iho nei, tū iho nei, hī! - And be placed on high Ponga rā! -Silver fern! Kapa o Pango, aue hī! -All Blacks! Ponga rā! -Silver fern! Kapa o Pango, aue hī, hā! -All Blacks! Words chanted on field, Taringa whakarongo! Kia rite! Kia ite! Kia mau! Hī! Kia whakawhenua au i ahau! Hī aue, hī! Ko Aotearoa e ngunguru nei! Hī au, au, aue hā, hī! Ko Kapa o Pango e ngunguru nei! Hī au, au, aue hā, hī! I āhahā! Ka tū te Ihiihi Ka tū te Wanawana Ki runga ki te rangi E tū iho nei, tū iho nei, hī! Ponga rā! Kapa o Pango, aue hī!' Ponga rā! Kapa o Pango, aue hī, hā!
October 23, 201114 yr Author ALL BLACKS - 8 LE BLEUS - 7 Wotta game, anybody's all the way. Congrats Ritchie and the team.
October 23, 201114 yr One point!! And Piri Weepu missed kicking eight. Tough match, the frogs turned up to play. But one point! Almost choked. Nevertheless, well done Richie McCaw and the rest.
October 23, 201114 yr One point!! And Piri Weepu missed kicking eight. Tough match, the frogs turned up to play. But one point! Almost choked. Nevertheless, well done Richie McCaw and the rest. "Almost" - meaning 'Did not'. It was the final we all hoped for, regardless of the result, and both teams can be proud of their performances. SC EDIT: I suppose it was the best result we could have hoped for, as another four years of the kiwis going on about how they were robbed by whatever would have been hard to bear. I suppose they'll have been grateful for home advantage. Every little helps, in a game like that. Perhaps I should have been drinking pastis instead of irn bru...
October 23, 201114 yr Great final.....well done to the All Blacks for holding firm at the end. Worthy winners!
October 23, 201114 yr Author It was not the only game won by one point. Guess the froggies were lucky to get to the final. Whatever, it has been a great 6 weeks or so here in NZ. I appreciate the good humour that has abounded in this fred. CHEERS all, roll on 4 years and ............ The 2015 Rugby World Cup is scheduled to be the eighth Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial rugby union world championship. The tournament is scheduled to be hosted by England from 4 September to 17 October 2015. In addition, Cardiff's 74,500-seater Millennium Stadium in Wales will also be used.[1] England was chosen to host the competition in July 2009, beating rival bids from Italy, Japan and South Africa. Edit; Grrrr, need spell checker running

One point is all you need... It would have been an embarrassment for the game if they had played as badly in the final as they did on the way there SC

October 24, 201114 yr Thank God NZ won!!! The French would have gone on and on and on about it for freeking years to come on the TV or in the papers or just talking between themselves. I watched the match on French TV. All bloody afternoon they were going on and on and on and blaming the referee for this and that and the other. For about 3 minutes they lost verbal contact which made me and my friend sigh with relief!!!
October 24, 201114 yr Yes, well done NZ. Despite my tongue-in-cheek jibe at Pete, I'm glad the Kiwis got up.
October 25, 201114 yr Author Ping, it is same here. Kiwis will always, despite what may be said, barrack for OZ if NZ is not represented. Thanks matey.

October 25, 201114 yr As a long time AB supporter it pained me to see them doing a go-slow at the end. Cowering is not how you want to win a world cup.
October 26, 201114 yr And the latest nonsense from the 2011 RWC http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/international/france/8847514/Rugby-World-Cup-2011-France-fined-for-advancing-on-New-Zealands-haka-before-final-kick-off.html Rugby World Cup 2011: France fined for advancing on New Zealand's haka before final kick-off I think the England team should come out in woad and run around brandishing bones of their enemies. Scotland should come out waving claymores (the USA team could do the same, but their claymores would be olive-drab with wires attached). And so on. One team is not special in the warm-up period, Samoa, Fiji and the other PI nations have their rituals. Maybe the French should have worn Breton berets, smoked Gauloises and pissed in the street? Bloody nonsense!
