I have recently quit my job teaching here in the south. Immigration said I was okay with my Imm. B visa to keep and administration didn't require me to turn in my work permit which is good for another 10 months... Why? I thought I had to get a tourist visa ect. How come they didn't care? I told them all about the situation with quiting and I was going to look for another job. ???????

If you have a Visa and never did an extension in Thailand, then the original Visa is valid until the date shown on it and you can stay here until then. If you had an extension, then that is different and you would be required to leave Thailand.
