Cambodia And Thailand In Joint Drugs Suppression

DEPUTY TRAT GOVERNOR WILL PRESIDE OVER THE OPENING CEREMONY FOR JOINT TRAINING ON DRUG SUPPRESSION

Deputy Trat governor Surapol Saipan (สุรพล สายพันธ์) will preside over the opening ceremony of 'Drug Prevention and Suppression', organized for officials in provincial, district, sub-district and village level in Kong (กง) Island, Cambodia.

Governor of Kong Island, Cambodia, Yuth Poothorng (ยุทธ ภูทอง) revealed that Cambodia has invited Thai officials from Drug Prevention and Suppression Office to give training for officials at Kong Island. He said that in the past, Kong province could not send many officials to Thailand to receive training. He hopes that this coaching is hoped to reduce drug problems in the island, as officials will gain more knowledge on the matter during the course.

Mr. Yuth said that like Thailand, officials at Kong Island had seriously suppressed drugs on the Island, leading to an improved situation there.

Deputy Trat governor Surapol Saipan (นายสุรพล สายพันธ์) said that the joint training is aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. He emphasized that the training is a cooperation along the borderline, which is the government's policy. He said that the training will focus on many issues covering drug prevention and suppression activities.

In a surprise show of support for the joint training, the former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chretien together with current President of the United States George W. Bush, both expressed a desire to be included in the joint training on drugs. In a joint statement the two men voiced their concern over the lack of proper training on joints that's available to many nations and have vowed to make it a priority.

Hmm... on second inspection of this post, there's something I can't quite put my finger on with those two guys... they somehow look a little different than normal.
