Gentleman,

Wife and I will be back in CM in a few weeks and we are looking to tear down two small houses ( actually shacks ) on her property and just clear the land and drop some dirt to build it up. Was wondering if anybody knows a company or person(s) who could do that and approx cost to basically demolish and take it all away..... Any ideas appreciated. We live in Canada now and will only be in CM for 5 weeks. Ive attached a few pics so you can see what I am dealing with. Thanks Again,

Mike

Free !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right On. They are my wife's shacks. We have not done anything with them for years and they are not liveable. There is alot of crap that has accumulated there from her neighboring family members.

Usually; Thai's will give you money to take away old buildings as they want the wood in particular. Wifey had 2 old houses that we had taken away in order to build new and she got money for both of them. You need to talk to your Mrs relatives or other Thai's about who to call in. You personally, stay out of the negotiations !

If it's good wood then they'll give you money. If it's just crap wood and tin roofing (kind of looks like it on the pics) then people will still take it and re-use it, but won't pay you for it.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. Yeah I would assume it is garbage and I am not looking to make anything of it but if I can get rid of it for nothing I consider that a huge win.

Just ask some locals who will likely dismantle and take away for free. They love wood and tin. Wood is very expensive here. Recomend you be there for the demolition though.

As far as the misc. crapola you refer to there are recyclers who will sort through all your junk and actually pay you for it. Plastic, metal, cardboard, etc. You do not get much but in the west you would need to pay to have it hauled out.

Have you considered having it done and keeping the wood for use in your new home. I have sen some very nice work done with old seasoned wood.

Of course you would need a architect to draw up plans.
